The Mine Minigame

Use the Mine's own resource and upgrade menus to choose the purpose of your next run: obtaining a blocked currency, improving coverage, or testing a loadout. The yellow-resource bottleneck was addressed in 1.0.12 by moving Dusk Gold higher. Rune scaling is not unlimited: 1.0.11 corrected text that said it was. Detailed loadout advice below comes from players, not a measured optimal route.

Changes that affect this guide

  • 1.0.12 · 2026-09-21

Old advice to keep digging deeper for the yellow mine material is incomplete after this patch. Recheck the updated mine before judging rarity from launch-week runs. The movement-speed entry is a text fix, not evidence of a changed buff value.

Name the gate before buying another upgrade

The Mine discussion distinguishes Coins, Night Crystal and the yellow resource later identified as Dusk Gold. These are minigame-context currencies; do not assume their names establish a factory recipe. Read the next upgrade's current cost in-game instead of copying a launch-week comment.

Pickaxe and rune choices answer different problems

If you are failing to reach useful areas, compare a simpler pickaxe with the Scatter Pickaxe before buying more upgrades. Players disagree on a best setup. If you can reach the area but earn too little, compare coverage and reward-focused runes separately. An unlocked tool is not necessarily better for every objective.

Track a useful run, not just maximum depth

Record the build, pickaxe, equipped runes, resource gained and the objective you were pursuing. Keep those separate from lifetime Coins or current balance. Your sample can guide your own next purchase without becoming an advertised drop-rate formula.

Factory rewards versus side objectives

Steam describes minigames as optional activities with rewards for the wider factory. A community memory guide also documents hidden Mine exploration. Those are separate goals: finishing a currency grind is not proof that every secret has been found.
