Runes: Read the Updated Scaling Rules

Do not plan around unlimited rune scaling: 1.0.11 explicitly corrected that description. The developer note does not publish the cap or a scaling formula. Players discuss rarity and area-oriented loadouts, but their reported numbers are not verified universal limits and should not be fed into an automatic calculator.

Changes that affect this guide

  • 1.0.11 · 2026-09-20

Do not size a factory using the old Altar or Loot Manifester timings. Search for Simple Metal Smeltery when an older guide says Alloy Forge. The notes do not provide new fuel quotas or a numerical rune cap.

What the patch proves

The unlimited-scaling wording was wrong. That establishes a limit exists, not its exact value or how every rune approaches it. Recheck the current tooltip when an old guide tells you to keep scaling indefinitely.

Compare loadouts by the problem they solve

The checked Mine thread recommends different runes for building rarity versus farming rewards. Treat those as player suggestions. Record equipped runes and the result of a run, then change one slot to see whether coverage, depth or currency improves for your goal.

Avoid two unsupported shortcuts

We found no developer source saying that destroying runes produces Dusk Gold, or that one reported rune-level number is every rune's cap. Inventory cleanup and resource acquisition are different actions.
