Nightwater Buildings & Machines

Choose a building by the job your line is missing: gathering, processing, storage, transport or utility. The official store advertises more than 60 buildings, but that is not a verified recipe database. Current detail records cover the Altar's changed interval, Loot Manifester's corrected readiness and Infinity Pipe's transfer fix. Simple Metal Smeltery is the name used after Alloy Forge was renamed in 1.0.11.

Choose a building by the job it does

Named utility buildings and broad machine roles are distinct. This is a useful starting index, not a fabricated list of all 60+ buildings.

Manifester

Use the island-expansion system when your next objective needs access to another region.

Altar

Placing your first Altar satisfies Resources Everywhere!; its recipe and production behavior are not established by that achievement.

Signal Tower

Good Signal confirms a building boost; check the in-game affected buildings before arranging a layout around it.

Assemblers (building role)

Match each processor to a real input supply and a destination for its output.

Storage units (building role)

Put a visible buffer at the handoff you need to inspect.

Changes that affect this guide

  • 1.0.11 · 2026-09-20

Do not size a factory using the old Altar or Loot Manifester timings. Search for Simple Metal Smeltery when an older guide says Alloy Forge. The notes do not provide new fuel quotas or a numerical rune cap.

Recheck older factory timings

Altar production is now documented at four seconds; Loot Manifester readiness is 300 seconds. Neither note specifies output quantity. If your old plan assumed a 1.5-second Altar or three-second Loot Manifester, revise its timing before adding more consumers.

Pick a role before picking a footprint

A new processor needs both an input source and an output destination. A gathering building helps only if it supplies the material your current goal consumes. Plan the handoff alongside the machine so the layout does not become a collection of isolated production stages.

Recognize the named utility buildings

Manifested associates the Manifester with island expansion. Resources Everywhere! requires placing an Altar. Good Signal associates the Signal Tower with boosting buildings. These are verified identities and objectives, not complete unlock recipes or measured effect radii.

Leave room for transport and inspection

Reserve visible lanes between source, storage and processing. When a line fails, you should be able to inspect each connection without moving unrelated machines. Put a buffer where you need to distinguish an upstream shortage from a downstream stall.

Revise a small section at a time

Use the documented move/deconstruct preservation rule to reorganize the factory. Reconnect and observe one segment before changing the next. Preserving items does not mean a previously connected route will remain connected after a move.

Put the plan to work

Place generic gatherers, assemblers, storage, pipes and utilities on a collision-checked planning grid.
