Nightwater Farmers Guide
Farmers are Nightwater's officially described gathering-building role. Choose a farmer to supply the resource your next craft or milestone actually needs, then verify that its output reaches storage or processing. Before adding more gatherers, inspect the source and downstream handoff: an output backlog can mean transport or processing is limiting the line. The store confirms the role but does not publish individual farmer recipes, coverage radii or collection rates.

Match gathering to demand
Choose a useful output and work backward to its material source. Confirm the available gatherer matches that source in your running game. Producing an unrelated material will not clear your next crafting bottleneck.
Inspect delivery separately
First observe whether collection produces anything; then inspect the receiver. If collection works but its receiver stays empty, diagnose the connection rather than adding gathering capacity.
Scale a working handoff
Let one connected gatherer run. Note whether downstream stock grows or empties, then change one part at a time. Keep any measured rate with the build and conditions that produced it.
Put the plan to work
Audit source, gathering, transport, buffering, processing, output, bottlenecks and expansion room with explicit reasons.
